MEDICALLY NECESSARY CONTACT LENS

Medically necessary contact  lenses are used for the optical rehabilitation of irregular corneal surfaces such as:

 

  • keratoconus,

  • pellucid marginal degeneration

  • previous ocular surgery such as LASIK, PRK, or corneal transplantation

  • permanent scarring due to trauma,

  • thinning of the cornea,

  • even chronic dry eyes may also cause corneal irregularity
